چکیده

This paper studies the performance of phase modulation through a fully saturated power amplifier and AWGN channel for broadband wireless systems. A nonlinear model for the fully saturated power amplifier is derived. The equivalent impulse response method is provided to analyze the SNR degradation. Both convolutional code and turbo code are used. The Viterbi decoding and the iterative decoding are employed, respectively. Near optimal BER performance is achieved employing either convolutional code or turbo code. The simulation results match the derivation. Therefore, it is practical to employ phase modulation and fully saturated power amplifiers in broadband wireless/satellite networks and sensor networks for ideal battery life, low cost and high terminal reliability.

Performance of Intercode Interleaving in the Indoor Portable Radio Channel

This paper examines the performance by simulation of an intercode interleaving technique, for indoor portable radio channels. The intercode interleaving technique is implemented by placing a bit interleaver between two concatenated BCH codes. The modulation used is d4-shifted DQPSK, with differential detection. The envelope and phase fading in the quasi-static indoor radio channel is modeled by...

A Novel Expanded 16-Dimensional Constant Envelope QPSK Constellation

We introduce a 16-dimensional constant-amplitude constellation that is generated by concatenating either four constant envelope quadrature-quadrature phase shift keying (CEQPSK) symbols from Saha and Birdsall or four CEQPSK symbols recently discovered by Cartwright and also introduced here. Our new constellation doubles the number of points available for data transmission without decreasing the...

Nonlinear Precoding for Phase-Quantized Constant-Envelope Massive MU-MIMO-OFDM

We propose a nonlinear phase-quantized constantenvelope precoding algorithm for the massive multi-user (MU) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) downlink. Specifically, we adapt the squared-infinity norm Douglas-Rachford splitting (SQUID) precoder to systems that use oversampling digital-toanalog converters (DACs) at the base station (BS) and orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) t...
